Soroptimist of Glendale Hosts 18th Annual Bras for a Cause


Soroptimist International of Glendale will hold the 18th annual Bras for a Cause fundraiser on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.

This year’s event theme is “Wonderful Women: Honoring Amazing Women in the Glendale Community. Honorees are Tara Peterson, CEO, YWCA of Glendale and Pasadena and Ellen Oppenberg, M.Ed, of Glendale Community College. Christeil and John Gota will receive a support award.

The event features decorated bras, silent auction, entertainment, and dinner. The program will be led by MC and entertainer Jill-Michele Meleán. She has toured as a stand-up comedian and acted in, written and produced various TV and online projects including two seasons on MAD TV, the web series The Mr. Jack Show and the streaming film Witness Infection.


Bras for a Cause is the signature fundraiser for Soroptimist of Glendale, raising funds to support the organization’s Live Your Dream education and training awards; Dream It, Be It career support for girls programs; and service grants that are awarded to other community service organizations for programs that focus on women and girls.
