City Call for Student's Street Smart Art


The City of Glendale invites Glendale students in grades Kindergarten through 8th to participate in the Be Street Smart Glendale Poster Contest. Students should submit one poster of their own design by mail or hand delivery no later than May 15, 2019 at 5 p.m. To qualify, students must also submit an entry form.

Poster submissions must feature only one of the following safety messages as its theme:

  1. "Always wear a helmet when riding your bike or scooter"

  2. "Cross the street at the crosswalk"

  3. "Always make eye contact with drivers when crossing the street"

  4. "Look all four ways before you cross: left, right, front, and back"

  5. "Don't talk or text on your phone when crossing the street (put those headphones away, too)"

A winner will be selected for each grade level. Each winner will receive a $25 Amazon gift card. The winning posters will be featured on BeStreetSmartGlendale.com and receive recognition at a Glendale City Council meeting.

Posters should be delivered or addressed to the attention of Juan Gonzalez at the City of Glendale, 633 E Broadway, Suite 201, Glendale, CA 91206. All submitted artwork becomes the property of the City of Glendale. The City reserves the right to publish the artwork and the student's name and school.
