Glendale Police Department detectives conducted an investigation relating to two separate bomb threat incidents at ABC Studios located 500 Circle Seven Drive in the City of Glendale.
On September 30, 2015, at 1:52 p.m., the Glendale Police Department received a transfer call from Burbank Police Department. The male caller reported bombs were placed inside the ABC Studios.
The Glendale Police Department responded to the location and the building was evacuated as a precaution. A search of the premises was conducted by members of the Glendale Police Department and K-9 unit.
No suspicious devices or explosives were located during the search. The studio was re-opened at the conclusion of the search and the employees returned to work.
On October 9, 2015, at 4:29 p.m., the Glendale Police Department received another call from a male caller reporting bombs had been placed at the ABC Studios. ABC Studios management and security department made the decision not to evacuate the building. A search of the building was conducted by the Glendale Police Department K-9 unit and ABC security. No explosives or suspicious devices were located.
Glendale Police Department detectives conducted an extensive investigation and identified the male caller as 22 year old Tyler Raj Barriss of Chatsworth, California.

On October 13, 2015, Glendale detectives conducted a search warrant at Barriss’ home in Chatsworth and learned he was living with his grandmother and unemployed. There was no evidence to indicate Barriss would actually carry out any of his threats and this was a case of a hoax.
Specific details regarding the content of the threats or the evidence recovered are not being released at this time.
On October 15, 2015, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and two felony counts of false report of bomb to agency or business and one felony count of criminal threats was filed on Barriss.
Bail was set at $1 million.
