Glendale Stands in Solidarity with the People of Armenia and Artsakh
On September 26, 2020, Azerbaijan’s military forces launched a deadly and unprovoked attack against its Armenian neighbors in Artsakh.
To bring awareness to the conflict, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, the Glendale City Council passed a resolution standing in solidarity with the people of Armenia and Artsakh to condemn Azerbaijan’s aggression. View/download the Resolution by clicking here.

In addition, beginning Friday, October 9, Glendale City Hall will be lit up in red, blue, and orange, the colors of the Armenian flag, in a sign of solidarity.

Here's how you can help:

The Consulate General of Armenia, located here in Glendale, has recommended that those interested in making monetary donations make them through official channels such as the Armenia Fund. ArmeniaFund can be accessed by visiting ArmeniaFund.org. Please note, it is always important to conduct your own research and to be careful of phishing scams when donating funds to any organization.

Consider supporting local businesses who are donating proceeds to support humanitarian efforts in Artsakh. If you are a local business donating proceeds to the cause, please fill out the form here. As the list grows, business names will be shared on this page.

The Glendale Unified School District is also helping students, employees, families, and community members who may be feeling a heightened sense of fear, helplessness, or anxiety in response to the war in Artsakh and Armenia, racial tensions throughout our country, or the COVID-19 pandemic by offering Mental Health Forums.

The English language forum took place on Wednesday, October 7 at 5:30pm, while the Armenian language forum is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 12 at 6:30pm. To watch the presentation live, visit Facebook.com/GlendaleUSD. The forums will also be recorded and posted on GUSD.net/MentalHealth.
